3 Ways to Manage Time When You Have Anxiety

Hello Weirdos! Hope you had an amazing week and enjoyed our episode this week. We have new changes coming up in the podcast direction. We of course still want to bring you all the weirdness of Michigan and even other places, but we want to start incorporating some life hacks when it comes to having depression, anxiety, and other mental burdens most of us have. The reason for this change is because we don't want to bring you the darkness of the world but we want you to feel good after listening to our podcast.

So in this episode we talked about a Weird Story from our listener Lt. Dan. He was shot by his best friend while ghost hunting. In addition, Sara talked about how to manage time and control some things in your life when you feel out of control. So make sure you check that out!

Episode of the week: When your Best Friend Shoots You

Ok Guys! You know animations are my thing. So go ahead and watch the animation and get your shop on!

In addition to the video above here are some other tools I have found for you to help manage time better. Who is this for? This is for anyone that may feel like they don't get anything done. The point of these tools is to help you feel in control because our mind tends to get so out of control.

Here are the same items as in the video:

To Do List Notebook

Gratitude Journal

TOOL NUMBER 1

A planner helps take the pressure off deciding what you want to do for the day. Got a future planned out but procrastinating on what to do? Start doing one thing to make that future happen. For instance, I have plans on retiring early and getting an RV to travel around the United States. What can I do today to make that future come true? I can plan on down sizing my house, getting rid of old toys from my teenager's closet, or plan a garage sale out to have in the summer. Focus on one thing to make it happen. You also can use the planner to make some time for yourself. Ok, I am going to get a manicure or pedicure at 3 o'clock. I am going to play poker with the guys at 5. Make sure to plan one thing for yourself. Use it to start your day and organize those thoughts so you can keep yourself accountable.

TOOL NUMBER 2

To-do Lists are not the same thing as Planners. To do list is a more detailed part of the day. So say I decided to clean out my garage. That's on the planner. The to-do list will break that plan down and help organize exactly where to start. I am going to be honest with you, our garage is an absolute shit show. We have a blow up hot tub that needs to be fixed, we have an old couch with old holiday decorations piled up on it. If I go in there with my anxiety and no to do list...I wouldn't know where to start and I would give up. The to do list will give you limits and checking the items of the to do list will give you a sense of accomplishment. It's good fuel for the brain and good for your anxiety.

Here are some planners I found with To-Do lists.

Phoenix Journal

Clever Journal

TOOL NUMBER 3

The last thing that is super important and I really don't want you to skip is a gratitude journal. I gave you a list of questions for the week, but if you get one of the journals made by a long time expert. The questions may be more beneficial to you in the long run. Gratitude grounds us. There is nothing better than putting the stuff that makes you feel safe and loved in perspective. Our brains tend to go to the negative, its human nature. When we practice gratitude everyday we re-wire the brain to think positive and we get more mindful of the negative thoughts that come in to the brain. Just like you can tell your heart to stop beating (and you don't want to) you can't tell your brain to stop thinking. That is what it does, but you can start tell it to think more positive by practicing gratitude. It is a good habit for anyone with anxiety and depression. You just got to have the willingness and the discipline to do it.

Here are some excellent Gratitude Journals I have found:

Don't Quit Journal

In DEPTH Workbook

I really believe in the power of re-wiring your brain to help manage anxiety Just try it out for a while and see if it helps. OKAY my weird friends, I hope you have an amazing week and we will talk to you on Monday!! Check out Don't forget to Follow us and share us with all of your friends!
